For example, when Dubya says "we do not rule out any options" this is the same as "my finger is always on the trigger". Maybe the Irain-eons translate that into Persian as "trigger-happy Dubya" but we don't know. If you are willing to undergo a brief religious conversion may this blogger suggest "Hate the sin, not the sinner".AmOKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351322682932613136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2007509643610309350.post-42461154614239453882008-07-07T15:44:00.000+05:302008-07-07T15:44:00.000+05:30Here's a contrary view, by Bill Emmott (former edi...Here's a contrary view, by Bill Emmott (former editor-in-chief at The Economist), in the other major US newspaper.Rahul Siddharthanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04809667965184094636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2007509643610309350.post-56794734078262782132008-07-06T22:57:00.000+05:302008-07-06T22:57:00.000+05:30No AMOK, if indeed India reached those heights, an...No AMOK, if indeed India reached those heights, and had newspapers strongly cautioning India from entering into agreements with tinpot countries (Sri Lanka? Ghana?, the US!!!) the reaction would be similar. Heaven knows what may happen in the future, Iran after all does not toe the US line but is friendly with India and not so with Israel. Throw in the rumblings about attacks and counter attacks in the Middle East and you see the genesis of the Editorial. The bastion of liberal thought does not extend uniformly in all directions.

Of course the fears, as this esteemed blog notes, are ill-founded and India would never peddle or proliferate. No ideological forces would drive such a proliferation outside India.

One parting thought. If India were to command such global military and economic power as does the USA, would the writings from this hypothetical country be any less offensively patronising and outrageous than what we read in the New York Times?AmOKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351322682932613136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2007509643610309350.post-17881448499462081352008-07-06T09:16:00.000+05:302008-07-06T09:16:00.000+05:30Great post. Resolved: That the U.S. should significantly change its foreign policy toward India. See www.speechsupplies.com.
