The title of this blog is my homage to a writer and a journalist, a man considered by many to be the conscience of his generation, Eric Blair aka George Orwell - his crystal clear prose, his felicity of language, his incisive grasp of contemporary issues. It strives as language as a clear pane of glass and this blog is an attempt, perhaps deeply inadequate, in that direction.

Thanks for making my day! While I've seen similar videos before, the joy on the faces of the singers here is a sheer pleasure to behold.
Rahul, how could you ever bring yourself to ask (even in jest) if they got the idea from the last scene in Slumdog? When was anything even remotely ORIGINAL ever done in an Indian movie?
vbalki: Strictly speaking, Slumdog was not an Indian movie but only set in India -- it was a Danny Boyle movie. Secondly, that comment is unduly harsh. Even Bollywood has pretty good original stories -- Don (the original), Sholay (spaghetti western but the story is original), many of the older Manmohan Desai movies. I am leaving out the Rays and Mrinal Sens and Govind Nihalanis.
